Just a few hours after revealing that John Stamos is allegedly being charged with driving under the influence of GHB after his arrest over the summer, TMZ also reported that Khloe Kardashian's best friend Malika Haqq was arrested for DUI early Thursday morning. Haqq, who is a fixture on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and other Kardashian-themed reality shows, allegedly crashed her car on California's Highway 101 around 3 a.m. after leaving a friend's party. According to TMZ's law enforcement sources Haqq allegedly showed "objective signs of intoxication" and the sources claim that she failed a field sobriety test.
Additionally, the Daily Mail reports that Haqq, 32, was allegedly charged with a misdemeanor, arrested, and then booked at the LAPD Valley Jail around 5:30 a.m. After making her $30,000 bail, Haqq was reportedly released from jail just before noon.
Though it is fortunate that Haqq was seemingly uninjured and no other cars were reported in the crash, this is not the first time that the Kardashian's friends and family have dealt with driving-related incidents. Khloe Kardashian was arrested for DUI back in 2007, while Caitlyn Jenner was involved in a February 2014 crash that left a woman dead. It was just revealed last month that the trans activist will not face vehicular manslaughter charges in the case.
After her own arrest, Khloe Kardashian spoke about her DUI and how it affected her.
"I have to go to the hospital and see injured people who were either a drunk driver themselves or were hurt by someone," she said of her community service. "Thankfully [they] weren't killed."
"What I could have done is just unthinkable," she added at the time. "I will never, ever do that again."
Bustle has reached out to Haqq's reps for comment, but the request was not returned at the time of publication.
