Kellan & Miley Are a Thing No Matter What He Says

Another writer here a Bustle recently wrote, "It wouldn't be a day in 2013 if there wasn't some new Miley Cyrus whisperings to speculate on," but alas, here we are in 2014 and it seems that the sentiment remains. Miley Cyrus and Kellan Lutz have been dating, rumor has it, but in an interview with On Air with Ryan Seacrest this morning, Lutz cleared up all the speculation. Kellan Lutz is not dating Miley Cyrus. There it is. Once and for all. Until they're spotted making out in a club again.

In the interview, Lutz answered questions about his starring role in The Legend of Hercules. The actor said that playing Hercules is his "childhood dream." "I grew up with my cardboard swords battling the hogs on the farm," Lutz said before being rushed by Seacrest through questions about his diet and exercise in an attempt to get to that Miley question faster.

For the record, in order to get all Hercules-ed up, Lutz started a Paleo diet. "I adapted the Paleo diet … no gluten, no dairy. But you can eat fruit and a lot of raw vegetables … I love candy, so as soon as I cut out my gummy bear addiction … you learn to love vegetables." Fantastic! Okay, so about Miley Cyrus. Get to Miley Cyrus already!

Seacrest's anticipation of this question was palpable through the interview. He eventually asked, "Kellan, I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t find out one really important fact about you in the new year. Would you say you’ve spent more time in the gym or more time with our friend Miley Cyrus?"

Lutz responds, "In the new year? This year?"

Seacrest tells him he just means recently (he doesn't make mention of that horrible "more time in the gym" transition) and Lutz eventually gives the generic "of course we're not dating" answer by claiming he finds the rumors laughable.

"These rumors are hilarious. It just makes me laugh … I’ve been friends with Miley for like six years. She’s a great girl … we are friends [and] we run in the same circle.”

Hahaha! Dating rumors! So funny! I can't believe eyewitnesses said they saw us making out at a club or that people would think we were dating just because we went to the Bahamas together! That's — Hahaha. I can't stop laughing!

So he didn't go so far as saying that second part, but he did sound a little suspicious.

Lutz made sure to stop the relationship story for good in the end by saying, "Are we dating? No."

They could still be doing the always vague "hooking up" though. We'll likely be hearing more about Cyrus and Lutz. Hopefully along with another horrible Seacrest transition.
