'Entertainment Weekly' Wants us to Get Tiggy With it: 'Up Close with Tig Notaro' is Here

In case you needed something to brighten up your Monday, Entertainment Weekly just released the first installment of the delightfully uncomfortable Up Close with Tig Notaro . The stand-up comedian extraordinaire and human wonder that is Tig Notaro has a new chat show where she gets cah-lose with her guests. We're talkin' belly-on-belly, nose-to-nose kinda close. Move over Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis and Seven Minutes in Heaven With Mike O'Brien, there's a new awkward host in town. (Just kidding, all of these web series can stay because they are great).

The first episode features Community star Gillian Jacobs and Tig on a floral sofa showing off their mutual amazing skills in neck craning and not-gut-busting-laughing into each other's faces. They get into the nitty gritty details of toothpaste, sibling rivalry and leave us with the burning question, WILL THEY BE FRIENDS FOR LIFE! I have to know! I just have to! And true to all Tig-ness, our hostess with the mostess makes a rip at her (multiple) brushes with death.

In just three minutes the series has given us such gems of catchphrases like: 'Tiggin' it up', 'sizzy', and 'mean as pie.' Any chance to spend a couple of minutes in the world of Tig Notaro is a very welcome respite from the cruel cruel world in which we live. Seriously, she is one of the most wholly likable comedians I've seen in ages. I can't wait to see who else is gonna get Up Close with Tig, because, really, who wouldn't want to? (And for Tig's sake, brush your teeth).
