'Lip Sync Battle' Is Getting A Season 3

by Michelle Lulic

Let the lip syncing begin! After a successful two seasons, Spike TV's hit celebrity face-off competition, Lip Sync Battle , will be returning for a third season. The LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen-hosted show features celebrities silently belting out hits, and dancing their way into America's hearts, as a way of proving that they are in fact a lip syncing champion. With the show airing Thursday night's at 10 p.m. EST and being Spike's highest-rated original series, the renewal isn't coming as much of a surprise. However, fans are still ecstatic to learn that, in late 2016, LL Cool J and Teigen will be taping 20 all-new half hour episodes. That means there's going to be about 40 new celebrities taking the stage and facing off against each other! Bring. It. On.

However, it's not just viewers tuning in every Thursday night that has led to the third season renewal. An interesting aspect of the Spike show is that it's success also comes largely in part to it's online viewership. Personally, I know that I've seen the likes of Anne Hathaway and Jenna Dewan Tatum's performances just from being present on social media. In fact, the short clip of Channing Tatum's absolutely flawless Elsa-inspired rendition of "Let It Go" from Lip Sync Battle's recent season has already garnered over 15 million views on YouTube. His full face-off with wife Jenna Dewan Tatum has received over 21 million views. And it's easy to see why:

So, who can we expect battling against each other in Season 3? We'll just have to wait and see, but at least we're getting a Season 3 — and that's really all that matters here.
