The New 'KUWTK' Promo Is Intense

by Caitlyn Callegari

Let's be real, Keeping Up With the Kardashians always has a healthy amount of melodrama to balance out the other lighthearted shenanigans that go on. But there's something about the new Keeping Up With The Kardashians Season 12 promo that makes the show seem a lot more intense than it has been in the past. This could be due to a combination of things, but if one thing is for certain, it means tumultuous times ahead for the famous family. Perhaps more than usual.

What about the promo makes it seem so, well, ominous? Probably the voiceovers. Especially when Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian, who are perhaps two of the quieter Kardashian kids (except for that time Kim attacked Khloé) sound like they mean business. I mean, consider Kendall's assertion that "There's a lot of people telling me what to do. And I can't let that get in the way of me and my family." She's not usually quite so aggressive. I think it's safe to say that she's really growing up and taking charge.

I can't help but think, as evidenced by this promo, that the tone of this season is going to be set by the snowballing of difficult events that happened within their family. With Lamar Odom's near-death experience and the subsequent fallout, coupled with Disick's rehab stint and immersion back into the family, there is no doubt that this season is going to be emotional. Plus, there's the Rob Kardashian drama that has been going on as of late that could be worked into the show even if Rob himself doesn't appear. Yeah, it's going to be whirlwind for sure.
