Paige May Regret Her Decision On 'The Americans'

Now, I'm not going to lie — if my parents ever admitted to me that they were secretly Russian spies, I'd probably have a hard time coming to terms with it. So, in a way, it's very understandable why Paige revealed her parents' identities to Pastor Tim on The Americans . That's big secret to expect anyone — let alone an innocent teenager — to keep to themselves, so she turned to a person that she's trusts more than anyone. However, I'm starting to have a terrible feeling that Pastor Tim will eventually betray Paige at some point and share everything she's told him with the police, even though he's promised not to say anything to anyone. For me, it's only a question of when.

I mean, yeah, from his perspective I totally get it. Breaking a promise is nothing compared to keeping your mouth shut over something as major as this. His heart's probably in the right place and I can tell that he just wants to keep Paige safe, but that still doesn't prevent me for feeling resentful toward him in spite of myself. As a viewer, I feel a great sense of loyalty to both Elizabeth and Philip, so even if it's the morally right the thing do — even if it means saying countless lives — there's an underlying part of me that is always rooting for them to not get caught. That's because they're not just spies to us anymore. They're human beings that we've gotten to know and care about.

And now Pastor Tim has the power to destroy them, if he so chooses, and I believe it's only a matter of time before he attempts to put that power to action. Paige loves her parents and she's trying so hard to sort out an impossible situation. I just fear that she may have put her trust in the wrong person if she has any desire of not seeing her parents end up behind bars.
