Tragic News For Shayne Lamas & Family

In extremely sad news, it has been reported that Shayne Lamas is in a coma and has lost her baby after a complication with her pregnancy. According to TMZ who say they spoke with law enforcement sources, Lamas was 16 weeks along when she collapsed in her Orange County, Calif. home Sunday night. When she was taken to the hospital it was found that she suffered internal bleeding around her uterus. Lamas was operated on and her baby did not survive the surgery. She is currently in a coma and is not breathing on her own, but her doctors feel "optimistic" about her recovery.

Lamas is the daughter of actor Lorenzo Lamas and is an actress herself having appeared on General Hospital in 2005, but she is most widely known for winning the 12th season of The Bachelor in 2008. Lamas was engaged to the bachelor Matt Grant briefly and is currently married to Nik Richie, the founder of celebrity gossip website TheDirty.com. Richie posted a message on the website today explaining that he will be taking some time off. It reads,

I’m going to take some personal days off from the blogging world. Unfortunate things happen to good people. I’m not the best person in the world, but I love my wife and my family. Shayne is my good person. She is my support and my smile. I found you and I never want to let you go. We will overcome. Us 3.- nik

Lamas and Richie have a daughter together, two-year-old Press Dahl Lamas-Richie.
