This is What You're Doing on Valentine's Day

With only a few days left before Netflix's House of Cards and romance, in general, duke it out for the top billing on Feb. 14, Netflix has decided to whet our appetites a bit with two salacious teasers.

From what we can tell, Robin Wright's Claire Underwood and Kevin Spacey's Francis Underwood are a united front against which pretty much everyone else we can remember stands. Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) is determined not to let Frank get away with something — I'm going to go out on a limb and say Peter Russo's death, among other scandalous wrongdoing — and it looks like she's got Lucas (Sebastian Arcelus) in on it with her.

The teasers also show us Claire's old flame Adam (Ben Daniels) and her right hand Gillian (Sandrine Holt) seemingly teaming up — there doesn't seem to be any sexy times happening, but then again, we see only a flash of their interaction. And while all this swirls around him, the ever calm Francis Underwood simply waxes poetic on hypocrisy. "Do you think I'm a hypocrite? Well you should," he says in one of his camera-facing soliloquies.

But for all their efforts, these teasers really don't have to tell us much. Just give us Spacey's methodical Southern drawl, Wright's ice-cold gaze, and Mara biting her nails and we're pretty much hooked. Sorry, everyone else. House of Cards might just be better than a Valentine this year.
