Smile Obama! You're The New Face Of Viagra

by Isobel Markham

Oh. Oh dear. A Pakistani market has been selling illegal Viagra with President Obama's face plastered over the packaging — and, just for good measure, the picture features Obama posing like an unsure James Bond. Because who would make a better face of an illegal erectile-dysfunction medication than our humble President, eh?

Contraband Viagra is a booming market in Pakistan, where the real thing is banned. According to the AFP, dealers smuggle both authentic pills and pharmaceutical copies of Viagra in across the border with Afghanistan. Obama appears to have been chosen to be the face of these copies because of his status as the world's most powerful man (never mind that Pakistan isn't all that keen on America at present.)

Worryingly, some of the pills are made up of completely unknown substances, meaning side-effects of "Obama Viagra" are potentially harmful.

The fake Obama Viagra costs $1 for four pills, and is also available in gel form. The drug is becoming increasingly popular among younger men. One doctor in the Pashtun region of northern Pakistan told the AFP that one reason young men in Pakistan rely on the drug is because of depression prompted by terrorism, unemployment and bomb attacks.

Wonder what Michelle's going to think when she sees this...
