Tumblr's "Piña Colliding" Will Change Your Life

by Christine DiStasio

Did you think there was nothing better than kittens and lip-readings of Twilight on the Internet? Well, you were WRONG. The new Tumblr account 'Piña Colliding ' is the latest (and arguably greatest) thing the Internet has given us in years. What is "piña colliding" exactly, you ask — playing Rupert Holmes' "Escape" (also known as "The Piña Colada Song") during inappropriate movie scenes. It's both genius and ridiculously funny while also making us face-palm because it took the human race so long to think of it.

The creator of this brilliant Tumblr account basically believes what we should all have known all along:

"Escape (The Piña Colada Song)" by Rupert Holmes is great and should be in every movie.

And now they're going to do just that, by playing the song over highly-emotionally inappropriate clips of popular films. Say it with me, everyone — THANK GOD FOR THE INTERNET.

So far, 'Piña Colliding' has 10 Youtube clips posted on the account that range from scary with Silence of the Lambs to the saddest of all time, Mufasa's death in The Lion King. And we'd be surprised if you could keep a straight face through any of them — seriously, they're that great.

Watch them all here, but first — here are our top picks:

Lord Of The Rings

300

The Untouchables

Silence Of The Lambs

Again, thank god for the Internet.
