5 Seconds Of Summer’s “Girls Talk Boys” Music Video Is A Charming Tribute To ‘Ghostbusters’
The punk-pop cuties of 5SOS have traded their "Don't Stop" superhero capes and spandex suits for proton packs and flight suits. Why? To shoot a ridiculously fun Be Kind Rewind-esque tribute to the new Ghostbusters movie, duh. On Friday, the music video for 5 Seconds of Summer’s Ghostbusters OST song “Girls Talk Boys" premiered online, and I think it's fair to say that it's probably perfect. And yes, as a matter of fact, I am just about as happy as I was the day I found out Hi-C would be bringing back Ecto Cooler. If this isn't a tremendous Christmas in July gift, then I do not know what is!
There really is a lot to love about the "Girls Talk Boys" video: Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Michael Clifford, and Ashton Irwin wear Ghostbuster uniforms; there’s a battle with a particularly spry alien that has the wrists of a human; someone wears a truly haunting Slimer costume; Michael Clifford delivers a chilling impression of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man; there are a bunch of clips from the new Ghostbusters flick (Heeeeey, Melissa McCarthy! Heeeeey, Kristen Wiig! Heeeeey, Leslie Jones! Heeeeey, Kate McKinnon! Goddesses, the whole lot of you!); and there is a delightful bop of a 5SOS tune.
Waste not a moment more! Soak up every Ectoplasmitastic moment, posthaste!
Every time I close my eyes, I see that Slimer 'stume.
