The Ziegler sisters are busy. You can hardly turn on the TV without seeing the talented siblings walking a red carpet or performing an incredible dance routine, but that doesn't mean they neglect their complexions. What's the skin care step Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler never skip, even on their busiest mornings? Let's just say that it's pretty essential.

Being in the spotlight isn't always easy on the skin. Televised events and dance performances both require heavy duty makeup that doesn't give pores much breathing room. The Zieglers are well-versed in the ways of wearing a full face, but, being the self-proclaimed beauty obsessive that I am, I've always been more interested in what they use off stage, especially when it comes to skincare.

"No matter what, we always use the Clean & Clear Morning Burst," Maddie tells me at a back-to-school themed event for Clean & Clear. "It’s probably the best thing for us in the morning because not only is it just great for your skin, but it wakes you up [...] I think that’s the most important thing before you apply makeup so you don’t have leftover dirtiness from the night before."

Although there is some debate about how often you should wash your face, it seems these sisters are in favor of a morning cleanse, and I don't blame them. Nothing wakes you up faster than rinsing with a refreshing cleanser, and Clean & Clear Morning Burst more than fits the bill.

Skin care is the most essential step toward a healthy complexion, but the right makeup can be an excellent quick fix. Both ladies list concealer as the biggest go-to beauty item that they grab even on their days off. "[Y]ou can use it for pretty much anything like your red spots or under your eyes," says Mackenzie. Maddie's personal favorite is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer. "It’s basically medium to full coverage, but it is so weightless and you don’t feel like you’re wearing any makeup. It’s so nice because it not only covers your dark circles but it covers any problem spots."

The key to doing makeup Ziegler-style is just to keep it simple. "[W]e used to wear a lot of makeup. Like, I used to wear winged liner even when I was younger which is weird because I wear less makeup now that I’m older. I think I’ve come to realize that it’s so much better to give your skin some air," says Maddie.

I have one question left, dear reader — will washing my face every single morning help me learn how to do this?!

I guess it's time to find out!
