These "Billy Bush Made Me Do It" Tweets Make Melania Trump's Excuse Sound As Ridiculous As It Is
Although Donald Trump was the one who said he can do anything to women, including "grab them by the pussy," Billy Bush has taken a lot of flak for being an active participant in the video, which mainly includes him laughing like a hyena at Trump's offensive comments. Bush was suspended from the Today show, while Trump has continued as the Republican nominee for president, and for some reason, Melania Trump decided to blame Bush for Trump's comments, saying Trump was egged on by Bush "to say dirty and bad stuff." That didn't sit right with a lot of people, because "Billy Bush made me do it" is far from a good reason to brag about sexually assaulting women. Trump has denied all allegations of sexual assault, calling the claims "fabrications."
Bush released a statement on the Access Hollywood tape, saying, "Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed. It’s no excuse, but this happened 11 years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry."
It's hard to believe that Bush could have made Trump say the things he said — especially as it's not the first time Trump has said something derogatory about women. And as Twitter is wont to do, it had a field day tearing that excuse apart, pointing out all of the things Bush must have made Trump, his wife, and other people do. From mocking a disabled reporter to lifting words from Michelle Obama's speech, Bush must have a inordinate amount of power over the Trump family, huh?
