Bustle's Editors On Grammys Noms & GOOP

by Rachel Simon

Can you believe it's already Dec. 6? We still may have a few weeks to go until the holidays and end of the year, but already, it feels like the month of December is flying by. And now that Grammys nominations were announced this morning (more on that in a bit) to signal the start of awards season, it seems like 2017 will be here in the blink of an eye.

But, as said, there are still a few weeks to go until 2016 officially comes to an end, and December is already feeling jam-packed with news and big events. Here's what had Bustle's editors talking on Tuesday, Dec. 6:

The Grammys + Big Snubs

Awards season has officially started, thanks to the release of the Grammys nominations on Tuesday morning. Expected favorites like Adele, Beyonce, and Justin Bieber all scored nods, with newcomers like The Chainsmokers and Lukas Graham also earning major attention. But like with any awards show, there were also some pretty surprising names left off the list (Where was Kanye?!). Check out the list of the biggest Grammys snubs here to see if your fave artist made the cut.

Fun Fact: The Knowles family probably spent the day celebrating hard, since both Beyonce and lil sis Solange earned nods. Solange, though, must be especially excited, since not only was her nomination for Best R&B Performance her first Grammys nod ever , but she only released her album, A Seat At The Table, on the very last day of the Grammy eligibility deadline. Close call!

Joe Biden + 2020

Late on Monday, Vice President Biden casually let it slip to a reporter that he might run for president in 2020. If he's serious, this could be huge, and already, many Democrats are freaking out about the possibility of a Biden presidency. Here's why the beloved vice pres could be a real threat to Donald Trump if Trump decides to run for a second term four years down the line.

Electoral College 101: In a powerful New York Times editorial, a Republican elector from Texas, Christopher Suprun, announced that he will not be supporting Trump when it's time to cast his vote on Dec. 19. Whether or not Suprun's actions will influence that of other electors is unknown, but there's no question that his reveal is a bold and important move.

Trend Alert: Listen up, ink addicts. According to Ryan Henry, owner of 9Mag Tattoo Studio and star of VH1's Black Ink Crew Chicago, the biggest tattoo trend in 2017 will be freehand and artistry and morphing tattoos — aka "two or more designs visually seen as one tattoo." So if you're indecisive when it comes to picking out designs, don't fret, because next year, you'll be right on trend.

Instagram + Way More Privacy

In a features update announced on Tuesday, Instagram revealed some pretty big changes coming users' way. The main takeaway is that users will now have the option to remove followers — meaning that you can now have more control over your privacy on the platform. It's a much-needed change to the app, and hopefully, it'll make users everywhere feel a lot safer. That's not the only big move Instagram made, though; here are the other two big changes announced in the update.

Podcast Fans, Big News: Instagram's not the only app making changes this week. Starting Dec. 8, Tinder will be teaming up with Gimlet Creative for the DTR podcast (standing for "define the relationship"), which will explore both the world of Tinder and online dating as a whole. Check it out!

Today's WTF Moment: "My heart is falling out of my ass" — Ariana Grande, tweeting her reaction to her Grammys nominations. That's, um, expressive.

What To Watch: Ready for some drama? Tune in to BRAVO at 9 p.m for the Season 7 premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Lisa Vanderpump and co. are going to shake things up.
