Since launching the brand in 2015, her now signature lip kits have turned into a full-blown empire. It comes as no surprise then that Beauty Inc. named Kylie Jenner's Kylie Cosmetics the Indie Beauty Brand of the Year, according to WWD.
Whether it was the incredible craze over the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits that sell out within minutes (and eventually were so highly coveted people were stealing them off of porches) or the latest eyeshadow palettes, it's clear that Kylie Cosmetics had a year that was so successful, I'm sure even Jenner herself was surprised.
It isn't just the products themselves that have turned this company into a must-know makeup brand. It's the strategy behind how they sell them. Jenner and co. are now known for releasing a limited amount of products that sell out almost in an instant. No other makeup company is more deserving of Beauty Inc's title.
When she started out, it seemed Jenner wanted to create products that would allow fans to steal her look — that was the foundation of the Kylie Cosmetics fan base. From there, she branched out into eyeshadows and beyond, and it wasn't just her followers who were shopping her products — world renowned makeup artists and celebrities couldn't get enough of her makeup.
To celebrate the success of her brand, Jenner launched the Kylie Pop-Up shop in Los Angeles. Thousands of fans flocked to it to shop her products in real life, but to also catch a glimpse of the star.
