'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' Trailer Hits Web on Nelson Mandela's 95th Birthday

It's the week of curious timing when it comes to movie trailers. Not only did the first teaser for The Fifth Estate — Benedict Cumberbatch's Julian Assange film — hit the Web amid reports that fellow whistleblower Edward Snowden was still searching for asylum, but the trailer for Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom hits the Internet the same day as Nelson Mandela's 95th birthday.

But unlike The Fifth Estate, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom focus on a far more heroic figure in politics, with Luther's Idris Elba delivering an uncanny impression of the anti-apartheid revolutionary. Watch Elba baiting a little gold man named Oscar in the trailer below, and ask yourself how Obsessed ever happened:

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, which co-stars Bond babe Naomie Harris as Winnie Mandela, hits theaters this fall, when, based on his rapid recovery, Mandela himself can hopefully head to the theater to see it himself.
