Another Artist Hospitalized At a Music Festival

by Emma Goddard

Although it feels like most music festivals have their fair share of mishaps, it's a tad alarming that artists keep getting sick at these events. When Ultra Music Festival took place in Miami, Fl. earlier in March, DJ Avicii was forced to cancel his show after having to be hospitalized. Now, at the famous California music festival, Coachella, another artist has fallen ill. Chance the Rapper was hospitalized just hours before his 3:10 p.m. set and had to cancel his performance.

A photo of the artist laying in a hospital bed appearing as if he is asleep or unconscious was posted to his Instagram account with the caption, “Pray for my boy chance,” but was later deleted.

However, his management took to Twitter after the news began to spread and spoke on his behalf, tweeting, “We sincerely regret to have cancel our 2nd week at Coachella. – CTR MGMT” and “Chance fell ill on Friday night & was admitted to the hospital today- Doctors & family are with him & he is expected to make a full recovery.” Oddly enough, this string of events comes a mere two days after Chance himself tweeted “Don’t worry. I’ll have a full recovery in time for my @coachella set Monday night.”

Here’s to hoping that he gets better and that all these hospitalizations come to an end.
