Would You Leave Your Groom for Harry Styles?

by Kadeen Griffiths

One lucky bride-slash-One Direction fan got the best gift ever for her wedding. I know, I know. There are One Direction fans who are old enough to get married? Isn't the young age of their fan base the reason Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik's weed video got them in so much trouble? Believe me, I was shocked, too. But if you're going to be a fan of 1D and in your twenties, then you may as well do it in style. That's probably why Harry Styles recorded a video for the bride-to-be as a favor to a friend of a friend, though they probably didn't expect him to try and lure the bride away with his dimples.

Imagine for a moment that you were shown a video of Ryan Gosling telling you not to go through with your wedding and to come meet him somewhere instead. How many of you would leave skid marks on the carpet from running so fast? That's basically what happened here for this bride, except she made the probably intelligent decision not to choose Styles over her groom. After all, they'd been through enough to get all the way to the altar and also Styles was totally kidding and would probably have felt like a huge jerk if she'd actually left.

"Tash," says Styles in the video that the bride uploaded to her Instagram. "You don’t have to go through with this. It’s not too late. I’m going to be waiting at Orli’s in Borehamwood for the next three hours. If you don’t come I’ll understand but that’s where I’ll be." Presumably, this video was played right after they said speak now or forever hold your peace.

Apparently, this all came about thanks to Ben Winston, the director and producer behind the Story of My Life, Best Song Ever, You & I, and Midnight Memories videos among other One Direction media. Winston asked Harry to record the message as a favor for his friend. The bride also received a guitar signed by all of the boys, as if her wedding day could possibly be any better. If you want to change your name to Tash and play this video on the day of your own wedding, then feel free. No one's going to judge you on your wedding day.
