If you watch the reality show Giuliana and Bill you know that the couple was trying to have a second baby through surrogacy. Though their most recent attempt ended in miscarriage, still there could be a baby in Giuliana and Bill Rancic's future. The couple was trying with their surrogate Delphine who, in April, sadly miscarried nine weeks into the pregnancy.
"It's a double sadness because we didn't want [Delphine] to feel bad," Bill Rancic told People about the devastating news. But for fans rooting for the couple, don't lose hope yet. The Rancics are fighting for that second child. "We have one embryo left," Giuliana shared. They plan to use the final embryo with Delphine again. Bill added, "We're fighters. Hopefully, we're going to have good news, and Delphine will be on board one more time. We've had to battle it out, and that's something that we're going to continue to do."
It's the couple's last chance for their own baby, since Giuliana's breast cancer medication makes harvesting more healthy eggs impossible. But the couple battled through the cancer together and they intend to keep fighting for this last chance, too. "I've had to come to terms with the fact that I may never carry a child," said Giuliana. "With that said, this next embryo, there's no guarantees. In that case, that's it."
Their surrogate Delphine already gave the couple their son Duke before she suffered the miscarriage this time. And there's reason to be very hopeful, because according to Parents.com, one miscarriage hardly ever leads to another.
Most women (more than 85 percent) who miscarry are able to get pregnant again and give birth to healthy babies. Since most miscarriages occur totally randomly, having one does not increase your risk of experiencing a subsequent pregnancy loss.
So fans will be happy to know that this final embryo has a high chance of working out quite well for them. Hopefully Duke ends up getting that younger sibling Bill and Giuliana are fighting so hard for after all, because this is one deserving couple.
