Sorry, Miley Cyrus, You're No Britney Spears

Miley Cyrus has a definite crush on Britney Spears. Cyrus feels kinship with the "...Baby One More Time" singer, who she says is the only "one person in my life who gets it." "It," meaning, of course, being constantly under the media's microscope.

But, girl, you are not giving Brit Brit enough credit. Sure, Miley has been the subject of media scrutiny as much as any other celeb. She's wacky! We love watching her "twerk" and make a fool of herself! In March, when she took a break from social media, it was because she was so utterly exhausted from rumors that her wedding with Liam Hemsworth had been called off. A month ago, she Cyrus lost it on a paparazzo who asked her if she was pregnant when she was leaving a doctor's office. Not saying Miley doesn't know what it's like to be under the hawk eyes of the paparazzi, but Spears "gets it" on an entirely different level — one that I don't think Cyrus would want to experience.

In 2008, when Spears was hospitalized and taken to a Hollywood hospital, the entire world was watching... because it was live-blogged. Her situation resulted in the loss of custody of her children and a conservatorship under the hands of her father. So many props to Spears for coming back from such a stressful period all under the eyes of the media. Cyrus should be thankful that the level of attention she's getting is nowhere near what Spears' suffered.

Hopefully, if Spears really is lookin' out for young Cyrus, she can help her navigate the waters of the paparazzi. But damn Miley, don't put yourself in Spears' shoes, because she really earned her stripes in dealing with privacy-invading media creeps.
