NBC Renews These Three Reality Shows

by Caitlyn Callegari

Good news, America! Your favorite summer guilty pleasure reality shows have just been renewed! NBC has decided to bring back America's Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, and Last Comic Standing so everyone can breath a sigh of relief that there'll be some entertainment on those rainy summer days. It will be the tenth, fourth, and ninth seasons for these shows, respectively. And NBC had a good reason to renew those shows, too. They've done exceedingly well against the competition and in the ratings. In fact, The Hollywood Reporter notes that America's Got Talent is actually the summer's No. 1 reality show. We suppose with the fun, ragtag team of Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Mel B., and Howard Stern, you can't not have a solid rating.

While America's Got Talent is leading the pack, the other two reality shows can brag about their credentials as well. Last Comic Standing pulls in a respectable 5.1 million viewers and American Ninja Warrior ended up being the first in it's time slot. Understandably so, because I just can't get enough of people falling off of the salmon ladder, either. Okay, I guess it's cool when they make it through the entire obstacle course, too. Either way, I'm just glad we'll continue to have some good old-fashioned entertainment during the warmer months.
