'Guardians of The Galaxy' Behind-The-Scenes Look Shows The Making Of Star-Lord's Weapons — VIDEO
Guardians Of The Galaxy just proved that the summer blockbuster isn't dead after all. As of Friday, the film had pulled in $37.8 million in box office sales, which haven't shown any sign of slowing down. Scott Mendelson of Forbes reports that, as of Sunday, Guardians Of The Galaxy's opening weekend has netted a cool $94 million during the third-biggest opening of the year behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Transformers: Age of Extinction. Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and the voice talents of Bradley Cooper, Guardians Of The Galaxy has also smashed the record for August opening weekend box sales previously set by The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007. New York Post's Claire Atkinson writes that Guardians' success isn't over after this weekend: At Comic-Con 2014, Disney’s Marvel released a trailer for a new animated series based on the movie, and a Guardians 2 movie is in the works for 2017. I personally propose it could rightly be called Guardians Of The Box Office.
If you've already seen the movie and absolutely cannot get enough Guardians, Marvel has released a behind-scenes-video of the making of the characters' weapons and costumes that shows it takes a lot of work to turn the actors into badass superheroes. Guardians' prop master and costume designer give us a sneak peek at the characters' unique costumes that are unlike any we've seen in a comic book super hero movie before.
