Mindy Kaling Gives The Best Teen Advice. Seriously

by Keertana Sastry

It's that time of year again. The 2014 Teen Choice Awards may feature tons of celebrities that cater to the younger teenage audiences (go figure) but the best moment of the telecast so far would have to be the appearance of Mindy Project star Mindy Kaling and Brooklyn Nine-Nine's goofy hero Andy Samberg. The two comedy geniuses — that's right, geniuses — brought a much needed humor boost to the proceedings in a span of no more than five minutes — no offense to Tyler Posey and Sarah Hyland, who were hosting the show. All Kaling and Samberg had to do was tape a segment for the award show where they hilariously answered some of the toughest questions most teens face every day, and it was easily the best part of the night.

Through this comedy duo's advice, we found out that Kaling can play a mean saxophone, Samber knows all about how it feels to go through your time of the month, and apparently something is seriously, medically wrong with his private parts. All in all, the quick but memorable segment was just as silly and hilarious as to be expected.

To be honest, as much as I love both The Mindy Project and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, I would be completely and totally fine with Kaling and Samberg giving up both of those day jobs (eventually) and teaming up for a teen counseling video blog. Seriously, I would pay money to see that. (Oh, and in case you were wondering where Kaling and Samberg's Hunger Games loyalties lie (and who isn't?), Samberg is #TeamPeeta and Kaling thinks Katniss really needs to be focusing on the revolution before dating. But she's totally #TeamGale. Wow, it really is the dilemma of the decade.)
