Liberty Ross' Attitude About Kristen Stewart & Rupert Sander's Affair Is Respectable & Very Peaceful

It's crazy to think that it's been about two years since the scandal involving Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders cheating on his wife of seven years, Liberty Ross, with Twilight star Kristen Stewart (who was, indeed, in a relationship at the time with Robert Pattinson) rocked the tabloid world — even for Ross herself. In a new interview with Harper's Bazaar, Liberty Ross admitted that she's forgiven Rupert Sanders and Kristen Stewart for the affair, because, "it's amazing what two years does."

Ross, who's now dating Interscope Records co-founder Jimmy Iovine, explained to the magazine that she forgave the two because people make mistakes, and she understands that: "People need to learn to forgive. I have no problem with anyone involved. I'm completely compassionate, I really am. No life is perfect, we all have our problems and issues and I believe that it's good to be true to who you are."

I love this zen, no-regrets sort of way of looking at the situation. Ross was wronged, she realized she deserved better, and she moved on — no remorse, no residual anger, just the total resolve to put the past where it belongs: in the past. Harboring resentment, though understandable given the situation, is unhealthy for everyone involved.

"Rupert and I were together since we were very, very young," she added to Harper's. "I was 18 — essentially, I married my first boyfriend. I always used to say we were more like brother and sister anyway. We'd been together for so long, we weren't really evolving together as a couple so much."

Sanders and Stewart's affair came out back in 2012 after paparazzi caught pictures of the two being fairly intimate with each other in public. Ross and Sanders, who have two children together, divorced earlier this year.
