Karlie Kloss x Nike Is Gonna Be Sweet

by Rosie Narasaki

Ooh, this is a dream come true! It looks like Karlie Kloss will star in Nike Women's newest ad campaign! It's kind of a match in heaven — remember when Karlie said in an interview with Into the Gloss that she doesn't really think of herself as a model? She mentioned that she "treats [herself] more as an athlete than a model" and that her confidence is tied to her physical strength. How better to get in touch with that power than a campaign with Nike Women?

Better yet, it's quite the cool collection: Set to release on November 13th, it's an ultra-awesome collaboration with Pedro Lourenço, who's something of a fashion wunderkind (he had his first show when he was 19; he's only 23 now — you might also recognize him from his recent MAC collab). This marks his second time working with Nike — this summer, Lourenço designed an impossibly chic Brazilian World Cup jersey for the brand. I don't even follow soccer/football (or any sports for that matter), and I still wanted to pick up and head to Brazil to buy one. Judging from the IG shots we have so far, his new collection is just as chic, sporting streamlined pieces, and flatteringly fashion-y shapes.

So, yeah, the combined (considerable) strengths of Nike, Lourenço, and Kloss are proving to be kind of perfect. I mean:

Pretty darn cool, if you ask me. While I can certainly appreciate a more fashion-y take on "workout" gear (see: Mary Katrantzou for Adidas or Jeremy Scott for Adidas or even Alexander Wang for H&M), I'm pretty excited for a collection of clothes I'll actually be able to wear to the gym, too.
