Guess Who Benedict Cumberbatch Isn't Marrying?

A lot of people had a lot of emotions Wednesday morning when news spread that Tumblr prince and Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch was getting married to a lovely lady named Sophie. That lovely lady's full name is Sophie Hunter, but apparently Wednesday left some people confused — and not just about who they were gonna marry now that Cumberbatch is officially taken. (Hint hint: Tom Hiddleston's still single, people.) No, it left a lot of people thinking Cumberbatch was engaged to 18-year-old Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner. No, really.

Considering Cumberbatch is twenty years older than Turner at 38, we should all be feeling grateful that this is just a light case of confusion. But it certainly led to an interesting influx of congratulations for Sansa Stark's actress, who took to twitter to clear things up. She wrote:

Thanks to everyone who is congratulating me but its another Sophie who is marrying Benedict Cumberbatch. Nice one guys haha

Cumberbatch's actual fiance is closer to 36 than 18. She may not have been as well known by the Tumblr forces that adored Cumberbatch until that engagement announcement, but I'd say it's a more appropriate match. As far as I can tell Turner is still living the life of a teenager whilst mourning the fact that none of the Starks will ever be happy again and being excited by the presence of Natalie Dormer. Much better than getting engaged to someone twenty years her senior, if you ask me.
