Your Weekend Beauty Inspiration, Courtesy of NYFW

by Candace Bryan

New York Fashion Week ended on a great note yesterday, and left us with some excellent beauty inspiration from the weekend. Unlike some of the crazier beauty looks from earlier in the week, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs went with gorgeous and simple looks that we actually want to emulate.

The Calvin Klein models were sent down the runway with a perfect day look. With bare lips, hair that looked almost untouched, and subtle brown eye shadow, it's the perfect "no makeup" makeup look. And given how humid it's been this week, we love that frizz was an essential part of the hairstyle.

Marc Jacobs' look was a bit more creative, and while we can't condone the choppy blonde bowl cut wigs, we think the makeup is a great idea for night. Blue eyeliner is nothing new, sure. But the light shade of teal the makeup artists applied was especially lovely, and the lack of blush and lip color let the eyes be the focus of the face.

Also, as you'll notice in the picture below, all the models had brown nail polish. It's not a color we typically think of wearing on our nails, but it kind of looked awesome. Plus, it might be easier that trying to paint Phillip Lim inspired swirls.

We're all taking a deep breath now that the New York shows are over. But hopefully this beauty inspiration is a good reminder as to why the Internet was so obsessed with all things NYFW-related for the past many days. There are actually things to be learned in between all the parties and celebrity sightings.
