'Black or White' Trailer Starring Kevin Costner & Octavia Spencer Will Tug at Your Ole Heartstrings — VIDEO
When it was announced that Academy Award winners Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer would be starring in a movie together, it seemed like all was right in the world. Then the trailer for Spencer's and Costner's film Black or White was released and things just keep getting better. The film — which is set for a week-long release starting Dec. 3 in iPic locations only (and a nationwide release Jan. 30) — is about Costner and Spencer, two polarizing grandparents to young Eloise, and their relationship raising the young girl after her mother and her grandmother die.
The two characters seem to not get along very well in the trailer, Costner playing the maternal grandfather and Spencer playing the paternal grandmother, as they fight for custody of Eloise, played by Jillian Estell. While the trailer touches on light-hearted moments throughout, the film is actually a drama that focuses on family, addiction, race, and mourning.
In addition to Costner, Spencer, and Estell, the film also stars Anthony Mackie. The film will undoubtedly tug at your heart strings — I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a little chocked up at the end when Costner and Estell tap their hearts after he drops her off at school. Sorry, I'm human. Check out the entire trailer below.
