Another day, another story about Miley Cyrus' now-immortal performance at the MTV VMAs. As cringe-worthy as that twerking was, the fact that people are still talking about this performance weeks later is probably indicative that Miley did something right here — but don't tell that to Cher. According to the legendary songstress, Miley's MTV VMAs performance was a mess, and, in her words, "so bad."
"I'm not old-fashioned," Cher said to USA Today in an interview to promote her new album. "She could have come out naked, and if she'd just rocked the house, I would have said, 'You go, girl.' It just wasn't done well." Yikes. Them fightin' words. "She can't dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn't great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don't stick out your tongue if it's coated," Cher continued. "If you're going to go that far, then think about it before you do it."
Duly noted, Cher. You didn't dig that performance. Honestly, who cares what she says about Miley? She's entitled to her opinion, and yes, that performance was a wreck. Still, pop icons hating on other female pop icons? Sigh. Cher didn't mention Robin Thicke, who was just as responsible for the mess that aired that night, and seems to have been receiving little to no flack for it. Blame where blame is due, guys.
