Kohl's Christmas Hours Are Shocking

by Sienna Fantozzi

If you though Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and apparently now Thanksgiving night were bad, just wait, because the holiday shopping frenzy has reached a new level. Kohls is staying open for 100 consecutive hours before Christmas. You know. In case you need to buy a $9.99 tee-shirt at 2 AM.

We all know that feeling of Christmas creeping up on us, waiting until the last minute to buy gifts, and scrambling to the mall on Christmas Eve desperate to find whatever is left that doesn't resemble junk. So Kohl's wants to eliminate the madness. (Though that seems like somewhat of an oxymoron.) “Customers can rely on us around the clock for their last-minute gift giving solutions, and we are providing 24-hour access to Kohl’s stores right up to Christmas Eve," said Michelle Gass, Kohl's chief customer officer.

Kohl's will be open from Dec. 19 through 6 p.m. on Dec. 24. I mean, it's a definite headline grabber, and will surely get the store some notoriety, but I'm not totally sure how practical and/or necessary this actually is. I feel like someone who needs to do their Christmas shopping in the middle of the night has some problems far beyond needing a last minute gift. Just saying.
