Carey Can Rock Leopard-Printed Alexander McQueen

by Rosie Narasaki

We sure don't get to see enough of Carey Mulligan these days, do we? A year and a half ago, she was completely owning the red carpet in her gracefully adorable way as she promoted The Great Gatsby with considerable aplomb, but now we only get a glimpse of her every couple months. Oh well — hopefully that will be changing soon, as she has a couple movies to be released in 2015. After all, she's already made a few red carpet appearances in past months — all were sartorial triumphs, but her latest look takes the cake: This Saturday, Carey Mulligan wore a leopard-printed, Alexander McQueen gown to ASMALLWORLD’s 10th anniversary Winter Weekend (ASMALLWORLD is an organization in partnership with War Child UK, who Mulligan is Global Ambassador to) .

You wouldn't think it but the pink and burgundy, full-skirted gown had a touch of the Yuletide around it — maybe it was a mix of the red-toned colors and heavy brocade-look of the fabric, but either way it was just the right amount of seasonally appropriate; it was festive, but not overpoweringly so. It also had touches of Mulligan's signature retro flair and her penchant for simple silhouettes — basically, it was the perfect dress for her, in every way imaginable, so... You go, Carey. Keep taking that red carpet by storm!

It's perfect, isn't it?
