Rita Ora Wore a Red Towel on the Red Carpet

Another day, another wacky outfit worn by Rita Ora. The British beauty is giving Lady Gaga a run for her money, and at this rate she's likely to surpass both Gaga and Nicki Minaj combined. After her crazy built-in purse dress at Q102's Jingle Ball last week, I didn't think it was possible for her to outdo herself so quickly — but boy, was I wrong. Rita Ora channeled Santa Claus in a red plush towel on the red carpet at Hot 99.5's Jingle Ball.

Ora took a very literal spin on holiday spirit, but I'm not quite sure it translated so well. The fashion risk taker looks a bit undone, as if she had grabbed a red furry blanket off her bed in a hurry and ran out the door. Coupled with black fishnet stockings, her signature red lips and smoky eyes, the look reads a bit more jaded than jolly.

Still though, I admire her for celebrating holiday cheer and taking a playful approach to an equally playful event. If there's a place and a time to wear a makeshift Santa suit, it's at Jingle Ball music festival. Had she worn this to the MTV Video Music Awards, her fashion police fine would be much greater.

Ora was clearly feeling merry, poking a little fun at herself in an Instagram captioned "red carpet on the red carpet."

So what do you think? Are towels the new ball gowns? At least they're nice and warm.
