You OK, Benedict Cumberbatch?

If you weren't aware that Benedict Cumberbatch is starring in a new, independent film, first things first: Benedict Cumberbatch is starring in a new, independent film called Little Favour. It was crowdsourced, actually, and it managed to reach its goal of £25,000 (~$40,000) in just 12 hours, which is astounding — in fact, it ended up raising about £86,240 (~137,984) in total over about ten days. That said: Little Favour has just released its first teaser trailer, and poor Benedict Cumberbatch is looking a little worse for wear in it.

Not much is explained about the plot, but Cumberbatch is seen beaten up and visibly bleeding at the hands of a man who wants to "explain how this works." He then proceeds to backhand Cumberbatch with a gun, though, which is not really a good explanation at all.

According to the film's Indiegogo page, which was active back in May, the plot is as follows:

LITTLE FAVOUR follows the story of WALLACE (Benedict Cumberbatch) when he is contacted by a former colleague to help him out with a deal gone wrong.

"Its been 7 years since he left Her Majesty's service and 10 years since the American Counter part who became his friend, saved his life on a joint mission in Iraq. He's migrated his skill set into a lucrative business while managing to keep his secret battle with PTSD under wraps. One day, while finally deciding to try his hand at a functional relationship, his old friend JAMES cashes in his chip and asks a LITTLE FAVOUR. How could he refuse when he owes the man his life?

Well, that's an exciting cliffhanger! You can check out the short teaser trailer below. Poor Benedict Cumberbatch — someone should go check on him.
