Hunter Hayes Wins at the People's Choice Awards

by Rachel Paige

In one of the least surprising categories of the night, Hunter Hayes won Favorite Male Country Artist at the People's Choice Awards. He beat out the likes of Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, and Luke Byran, and took the stage in nothing short of adorable fashion. He thanked his fans, and his parents, mentioning how he felt so "blessed" to be here. We're blessed to have you around too, Hunter.

At only 23, Hunter has been making huge waves in the country music scene since the release of his first album in 2011, and yeah, currently he's the youngest male artist ever to top Billboard's Hot Country Songs, like that's no big deal. His second album was released beginning of last year, and clearly it has left quite an impression, one that has carried him into 2015 so far. It's also awesome to see someone so young making waves in the country music industry — I mean, there needs to be someone swoon-worthy for all the tweens out there, right? Not that the youngins can't get behind Brad Paisley, but his first CD was released in 1999.

But as seriously great as Hayes' musical chops are, we have to talk about the adorable elephant in the room: he is downright dreamy. Could he not pass off as the long-lost brother of Josh Hutcherson? They both have the same strong jawline, boyish smile, hair you bet smells AMAZING — oh, sorry, where was I? That's right. We love him for his music, not the fact that we could totally see us going to the movies and then out for ice cream afterwards.

2015 is shaping up to be another great year for Hunter, too, as it was just announced that he'll be joining Lady Antebellum on tour this year. The tour kicks off overseas first, but is slated to make its way to the U.S. in May, stopping everywhere between LA and NYC, and even Canada, too. Tickets go on sale the end of the month, so if you need your Hunter Hayes fix for the year, what are you waiting for?
