"Suit" By Boom! Bap! Pow! Is Great

by Kristie Rohwedder

Let me get this straight: Not only can Diet Coke conjure up an avalanche of kittens out of thin air, but it can also cause the drinker to have really awesome, albeit fleeting hallucinations??? Er, at least that's what I've gathered from the commercials for the diet soda. I have not personally experienced these Diet Coke kittens or hallucinations or whatever else the soda brings, but what I can speak on: the music in the commercial. The song in the Diet Coke airplane ad is "Suit" by Boom! Bap! Pow! and it's great.

No, "Suit" was not recorded by a bunch of sound effects from a Batman fight scene. Boom! Bap! Pow! is an Australian pop-rock band made up of humans. You can find “Suit” on their 2013 album So Heavy. If you watch a lot of TV (right there with you, pal), there's a chance you've heard the track before: "Suit" was recently featured in a TV ad for Gilt.

Diet Coke has a history of including great music in their ads. The Taylor Swift song "How You Get the Girl" is in the aforementioned kitten commercial. It's a total diamond.

The music video for "Suit" makes shaving with a straight razor seem way less stressful than I always imagined it to be. So much sassy dancing!
