This Modern Family Star Rocked Formal Attire

Winter white clothing is a trend for all ages, and one 17-year-old celebrity in particular is the trend's Best Dressed proponent. Modern Family actress Ariel Winter posted images of her winter formal ensemble to Instagram, and prompted a thousand former prom queens to reevaluate their sartorial choices from the '90s and early aughts. The Gloss broke news of the choice attire, calling it a wonderful selection for a young woman with an hourglass frame.

The light, body conscious frock strikes the nearly impossible balance between playful and sophisticated, but like her character on Modern Family, Winter appears to be quite savvy in her decision-making skills. The masquerade-themed dance called for a look both timeless and modern, which Winter achieved by accenting the zippered, short-sleeved mini with an elegant corsage and minimal jewelry. Eschewing the adolescent imperative to bare all at any social occasion, Winter kept her hem length and dipped neckline only subtly skin-baring.

However, the true testament to any teen's formal attire is her date's reaction, and Winter's companion looks nothing less than enamored with her choice. However, Winter must have sensed that her outfit was missing something extra, as she popped a plastic fireman's hat on top to complete the look. Simply put, you can't do better than a formal ensemble that's tasteful, quirky, and glamorous all at once.
