The Best Fashion-Related Podcasts

by Hayli Goode

Maybe I'm late to the game, but I didn't realize that fashion podcasts were a thing. Turns out, they're a really good thing. Much like apps in general, there's a style-related podcast for everything. If you like shoes? There's a podcast for that. If you like summer dresses? There's a podcast for that. If you like to DIY your clothes? Well, there are multiple podcasts for that.

For those long drives or when you're exercising at the gym, podcasts are great to listen to when you're stuck in one place for a solid amount of time. Unlike music, you can't really keep track of how long you've been running on the elliptical or how many miles you've driven, based on the number of songs that have played. Instead, you can get lost in the endless amounts of fashion hacks, beauty advice, and shopping tips that you may not have know before.

These podcasts are downloadable on your smartphone as apps, or you can visit a website with an archive of individual episodes. In case you wake up and have no idea what to wear, listen to these informational interviews or fashion and beauty tips to help you get dressed for another awesome day. Here, seven of the best fashion podcasts out there, separated by interest.

1. If You Like Fashion News....

MODTV Fashion Video Podcast has the option to watch as well as simply listen to all the breaking fashion news. They'll take you backstage behind fashion week in New York, Paris, and Milan for exclusive interviews with models and designers. Or, they'll take you into the doors of all the magazines you read, and talk about what's happening at a given publication. The MODTV Fashion Video Podcast the No. 1 iTunes fashion and beauty vertical podcast, so it's definitely legit.

2. If You Like Stories....

Hilary Walker is a Dallas-based fashion and lifestyle blogger who uncovers the stories behind home furniture pieces and clothes in her podcast Our Style Stories. She interviews people to find out why they love a certain item or why a shirt has been hanging in your closet for so long. She'll explain how dressing just for yourself is OK, plus how to achieve your perfect wardrobe. She's also just really funny and really real.

3. If You Love To DIY...

The name is a little intimidating, but the blog is informative. Journalist and founder of the Daughter Fish, Christine Cyr Clisset, brings on experts for every DIY podcast. If you are just learning to sew, need to fix a button, or are looking for a new craft to pick up, Clisset and her army of experts will walk you step-by-step through difficult crafts you'd never thought you could create! Occasionally, Thread Cult steps away from fashion and into interior design and styling tips as well.

4. If You're Interested In Ethical Fashion...

If you love discussions, hearing all the latest information on up-and-coming designers, and ethical fashion and trends happening in the industry, then The American Fashion Media weekly podcast is perfect for you. The interviewers make getting all of the information from designers or fashion experts fun. The podcast is fairly new and, in 2015, is opening its flagship facility in Brookyln.

5. If You're An Anna Wintour Superfan...

There's no order or warning when Vogue will have a new podcast, but they're constantly updating the downloadable series. From fashion and beauty tutorials to behind-the-scenes stories from high-fashion events, you can pretend like you're there when we all know you're snuggled under a blanket eating popcorn.

6. If Your Guy Needs Style Help...
