Hollywood is saying farewell to another star. Actress Alberta Watson died at age 60 on Saturday, ET Canada reports, but details about her death remain unknown. Watson was a Toronto-born actress who had almost five decades worth of work in the entertainment industry. Her agent Pam Winter confirmed the actresses death with the following statement to ET Canada:
It is the case, sadly. Alberta passed away on Saturday evening at Kensington Hospice in Toronto. Her husband Ken was by her side. We await details of a memorial service for her.
For fans of TV, you might recognize Watson best for her role in La Femme Nikita, where she played Madeline A. I. She even appeared in CW's reboot of La Femma Nikita, titled Nikita and starring Maggie Q as the titular character, where she played Senator Madeline Pierce. For Jack Bauer fans, you might remember Watson as Erin Driscoll in Season 4 of Fox's hit series 24. She also appeared in The Newsroom, Hill Street Blues, and Law & Order.
When it came to movies, Watson had no problem making a name for herself. From In Praise of Older Women to David O. Russell's Spanking the Monkey to The Sweet Hereafter to the TV movie Gotti, where she played Victoria Gotti, Watson's roles were diverse, to say the least.
Watson definitely made her mark on the small and big screen and will always be remembered for her action-packed roles.
