New Christian Grey Announcement?

Now that the gossip surrounding Charlie Hunnam's surprise departure from 50 Shades of Grey has died down (recap: he left the movie because it sucked), producers can finally focus on the major task at hand: Finding a new actor to exploit — I mean, hire — to portray Christian Grey. According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers have begun screen-testing new actors to join 50 Shades of Grey , including Once Upon a Time star Jamie Dornan, and Tony-nominated actor Billy Magnussen. No word on if Clint Eastwood's son, Scott Eastwood, ended up screen-testing, as he was rumored for the role, but it's better that way — hopefully he ran far, far away to never look back.

Both Dornan and Magnussen reportedly read for the role in front of director Sam Taylor-Johnson, and opposite lead star Dakota Johnson, who is set to play Grey's victim — I mean, lovaaah — Anastasia Steele. It's not clear who producers are favoring.

Whoever does end up getting the role, though, should be announced soon — producers are apparently in a rush to find a replacement, because Hunnam's departure left them with a bit of a time crunch: If they want to make their anticipated release date of Aug. 1, 2014, production on the film needs to begin by Nov. 1. Stay tuned, everyone.

Or, y'know, don't. I'm sure you have better things to do with your time, to be honest.
