Vin Diesel’s Response To Question About His Daughters Dating Is Pretty Much Perfect

The Furious 7 star might be best known for being a badass in action movies, but Vin Diesel is getting recognized for being a great dad. Ever since he welcomed daughter Pauline, who he named after co-star and friend Paul Walker, he's been talking nonstop about his family and children. So, what is The Fast and the Furious star going to do when his two daughters get older and start dating? Well, Vin Diesel's doing right by his daughters based on the answer he gave E! News during their chat at the actor's handprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday.

He said, "Oh, I won't have to say anything. My six-year-old daughter is an orange belt in Judo and Jiu Jitsu already so my philosophy is you teach them to handle their own."

First, no surprise that his children would know self-defense and the craft of martial arts, because, well, it is Vin Diesel. Second, how much do you love the end of his response, "you teach them to handle their own?" The typical response when dads talk their daughters dating is either "My daughter isn't allowed to date," or "I'll teach the guy/girl a lesson, if they break her heart" or "I want to know their intentions with my daughter."

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm sure Diesel would go above and beyond to protect his children no matter the situation, but I admire how he has faith in his daughters to not only be strong women, but to take their lives into their own hands and deal with things on their own. Again, I'm sure he'd step in if he needed to, but the fact that the actor is preparing his daughters to be independent, well, that's something I can get behind — and I'm sure others will too.
