A 'Titanic' Sequel In the Works?

This is a prime example of a man with more money than he knows what to do with. The Australian billionaire who made headlines last year when he announced efforts to build an exact, working replica of the Titanic (to be titled the Titanic II) to travel the same route that the ill-fated original ship did in 1912, Clive Palmer, wants to film a new Titanic movie that he claims will be "a lot better" than James Cameron's Oscar-winning 1997 version.

Not only that — Palmer reportedly wants two Titanic-centric films, the first being a documentary which would "detail the construction of the life-sized replica." The second would be the fictional film to rival Cameron's version, though Palmer isn't revealing what the plot exactly is:

"The script’s looking pretty good at the moment—it’s not finished but it’s very interesting,” said Palmer before adding that “it will be about [his ship’s] first voyage and some of the things that happen on it.” And yes, it will have “some love in it.”

Why is this guy obsessed with Titanic? Who knows. I just can't help but think there are so many other people in the world who would spend all that money Palmer is funneling into these projects better... like me. Ugh.
