Will 'Arrested Development' Return For More Than 1 Season? Here's What We Know
Bless Netflix. Not only does the streaming service give us the ability to binge-watch our old favorite shows for hours on end, but it also provides us with a brand new twist on those same old favorites. Netflix brought back the tragically cancelled Arrested Development for a long-awaited fourth season, and now it's giving us a whopping 17 more episodes of the series. Season 5 of Arrested Development , is officially in the works and according to a slew of interviews with the cast, it appears that everyone is onboard for more of the dysfunctional family's epic adventures. Fans certainly are — personally, I can't watch old episodes on Netflix forever, and even 17 new episodes don't seem like quite enough to kick our Bluth craving. So, it's worth considering — could Arrested Development return for more than one season?
Short answer: It's quite possible. The cast has been vocal about their desire to keep the show going, and many cast members have professed their love for the series and working with the Arrested Development family whenever the opportunity arises.
Of course, that doesn't mean it's logistically possible. Though Will Arnett confirmed back in August of 2014 that a new Arrested Development season would happen, a formal announcement was not made until eight months later. Arrested Development Season 5 may have been officially announced, but it won't happen for at least a little while, putting the possibility of any seasons after that on the back burner.
We won't know for a while if a Season 6 of Arrested Development will happen, but, for now, it looks like we'll just have to be stoked that we're getting 17 brand new episodes sometime in the future.
Now...if only the cast could clear their schedules indefinitely.
