Even if you didn't go to prom, you probably remember that everyone's choice in dates was a Big Freakin' Deal. One teenager this year, however, was spared that particular agony: Joy Webb of Albertville, AL, took her grandfather to prom. It doesn't matter who wins prom King and Queen at Albertville High School's dance this year, because we all know that Joy and her "Poppa" are the cutest couple, hands down.Webb decided to ask her grandfather, James Drain, to prom because he never participated in the rite of passage when he was younger, Cosmopolitan reports. In fact, the 80-year-old had never had an occasion to wear a tux before, and Drain could not have been happier about experiencing his first prom at the same time as his granddaughter. "She said... 'Hey, will you come to the prom with me and be my beau?’" he told WHNT news. "And I said I sure will!"Although Webb had to get special permission to bring her grandfather, their night was exactly what most teens imagine when they dream about prom night. She wore a pretty dress, he wore a handsome tux, and they even took a Cinderella-style horse-drawn carriage to the event.
"My family is everything to me, and I love him so much, and it's just like really special to me because I know not many people get to do that," Webb told WHNT news. "And I know he loves me and I love him, and it's just really neat and special."Does it get any cuter than that?
