Solange's Whitney Museum Look Takes Flight

by Rikki Byrd

What's bright and yellow with feathers all over? Some would usually say Big Bird. But Solange Knowle's look from the Whitney Museum of American Art's opening took the Sesame Street character from street to chic in her dazzling number that undoubtedly stunned.

Last night celebrities gathered at the Whitney Museum to check out its new digs since its renovation. The public won't get a chance to step inside until May 1, so for now, you'll simply have to live through the Instagram accounts of the celebrities who were invited last night. All of the fashion and art world were out, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Zoe Kravitz and Dakota Fanning (who were also making stylish appearances at Tribeca Film Festival this week), in stunning looks. However, one can only imagine that the room stopped when Knowles flew in, yellow feathers and a bright smile in tow. Fresh off her mother's wedding in which she wore a gorgeous floor-length white gown perfect for dancing the night away with her niece Blue Ivy, Knowles must have been in dyer need to add some color back into her life. And, color she added when she attended last night's museum opening hosted by Max Mara.

For an evening when guests were invited to look at the art, Knowles was a piece of art herself, dazzling in a look, whose designer is still unknown. To complement her bold yellow, she wore a textured black pump with a green toe and a bright pink clutch. Now enough talking, and more looking. Keeping up with her style is seriously becoming a sport.
