Proof 'S.H.I.E.L.D.'& 'Daredevil' Could Crossover

by Rosie Narasaki

In case you didn't notice, there have already been quite a few Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. easter eggs on Daredevil. There's the whole Carl Creel thing (he's the one Matt's father won that pivotal boxing match against back in Daredevil Episode 3), and then there's tiny little detail that Skye and Matt Murdock were both raised in the same orphanage. Yep, both future superheroes were raised at Saint Agnes, and given their respective ages (Skye is 26, and Matt appears to be around that same age, as he and Foggy both recently graduated from law school), they almost certainly overlapped.

There's no word of an actual crossover happening yet, but Marvel is nothing if not ultra-secretive. Besides, Daredevil star Charlie Cox has already revealed that it's in his contract to appear in Marvel films and he told Close-Up Film that he'd love to do so. Maybe he'd love to do a few episodes of the other Marvel series too? It may be more likely that he'll appear in the other Defenders shows, like the upcoming A.K.A. Jessica Jones (um, how excited are we for vigilante Krysten Ritter again?), Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Many, if not all four, of them will likely star in The Defenders miniseries, plus, it's rumored that they'll be making an appearance in The Avengers: Infinity War, Part 2, which isn't set to hit theaters until 2019.

That's all to say, there's a lot of room for crossover between Daredevil and other Marvel properties like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. At the very least, I'm sure we'll at least get to see Skye quipping something like, "The devil of Hell's Kitchen? Yeah, we grew up together." Hopefully a throwaway Easter egg like that will pave the way for a real crossover. I mean, it just plain makes sense, especially with all of the purported digging both Coulson and Hydra have been doing into super-powered individuals (Bustle writer Leah Thomas even points out that his mystery-shrouded Theta Protocol may end up becoming the Avengers Academy). When it boils down to it, the Bus has got to make a stop in Hell's Kitchen soon, right?

There are a lot of reasons to hope and pray for an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D./Daredevil crossover, but if I'm being honest, I'm actually most excited for the possibility of seeing the devastatingly charming Matt Murdock hanging out with the ladies of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm guessing even the infamously unflappable May will get flustered, and it sure would be fun to watch Simmons flirt up a storm with him while Fitz gets jealous in the corner.
