Simon Cowell's DJ Show Is Heading To Yahoo

by Kristie Rohwedder

Do you think you are the ruler of the 1s and 2s? An effortless dropper of beats? A master at turning pancakes? (I wish I could say I made up "pancake turner," but I did not. It is an actual thing.) Are you the ultimate DJ? Well, has Yahoo got the reality show for you! According to Variety, Yahoo announced on Monday that it has added Simon Cowell's disc jockey competition show, Ultimate DJ, to its roster.

The reality competition series, which was created by Cowell’s Syco Entertainment, has been baking in the oven for years, and the kitchen timer has finally gone off. It’s time to remove the pan from the oven, set it out on the stove, wait for it to cool, and serve up its contents to Yahoo’s audience. The X Factorcreator/Britain's Got Talent creator/American Idoljudge will serve as executive producer.

So, what do we know about the show so far? Electronic DJs will attempt to win over the judges and the viewers (who will vote via Tumblr). The prizes: a recording contract at Sony Music AND a headlining spot at a music festival. In my mind, Ultimate DJ will be Master of the Mixmeets American Idol meets "When Will The Bass Drop?".

Well, minus the bass drop explosion, of course.
