5 Jade Liners That Can Give You Beyonce's MET Look

by Stephanie Chon

In case you weren't paying attention to everyone's makeup last night, Beyoncé and Karlie Kloss wore jade liners to the Met Gala, which totally went with the theme of “China: Through the Looking Glass.” While a lot of celebs sort of missed the point, in my opinion — which is understandable as this theme had the potential to get offensive (*cough* Emma Roberts *cough*) — the jade liners were definitely a nice subtle touch that paid homage to Chinese culture.

Beyoncé’s makeup artist Sir John explained how their makeup team only used liner on the top, “which makes you look fresh.” And by “fresh,” Sir John meant young and youthful. He told Style.com, “Asia is so youth-obsessed with their skincare that we wanted to give a nod to that.” On the other hand, Karlie Kloss’ makeup team gave her a bolder jade look. Not only did she have her jade liner on the top lashline, but she had them on the bottom lids as well. According to Sir John, pulling the jade shade along her lower lashline, “makes eyes look bigger and brighter but doesn’t marginalize the space.” I feel like the fact that the liner matches Kloss’ big, beautiful green eyes intensified her natural eye color in the best way possible.

Sir John used similar shades By Terry Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadow in Fizzy Jade on Beyoncé and L’Oréal Paris Silkissime Eyeliner in Green Ivy on Karlie Kloss. However, if those shades don’t entirely match your taste, then check out these five jade liners:
