This Couple's Island Elopement Is Beyond Gorgeous

by Eliza Castile

Wedding season is upon us, and you know what that means: we will be living vicariously through the ridiculously beautiful wedding photos flooding our newsfeeds for the next four months. You already know whether or not that's your cup of tea, but you don't have to be a romantic to appreciate Melanie Kneis and Stephen Griffiths' destination wedding photos on Song Saa Island. Rather than splurging on a traditional wedding, which tend to be astoundingly expensive, Kneis and Griffiths chose to spend their money on a trip to a private island off of Cambodia, where they had their own ceremony. Or rather, ceremonies — in addition to a ceremony with the resort's manager, the couple received a blessing from local Buddhist monks. Kneis and Griffiths also had a reception party in their home of Montreal on New Year's Eve a few months later, which is presumably how long it took for their friends and family to forgive the couple for not bringing anyone with them to paradise.

According to photographer Chelsea Gray, Kneis is a fan of fashion editorials, and it definitely shows. Her Reem Acra dress, Gianvito Rossi shoes, and the ridiculously gorgeous setting combine to make the couple's wedding photos look like they were ripped straight out of Vogue. Check out the photos below, but be careful, or else you might find yourself buying a ticket to Song Saa Island too.
