Birchbox is Popping Up at Gap This Summer

by Lindsey Rose Black

Finally, the rest of the world can get their hands on what New York City has had for a while: a Birchbox store. Opening in seven locations across the United States, Birchbox is teaming up with Gap's flagship locations for pop-up shops, according to Glamour. Each store will have unique offerings, but all of them will ultimately serve as a place where potential customers can look at the boxes in person and decide if they want to start a membership.

But, since New York is New York, it does get a little extra fun. The pop-up there will also include "Try Bars," where customers can play with different trends. Additionally these bars will include full-size makeup, hair, fragrance, and skin care products for build-your-own boxes.

The vice president of merchandising for Gap, Jerry Brandehoff, commented on the partnership, explaining how "Birchbox [wants] to create a special moment that drives a deeper engagement with [consumers] and also brings an element of surprise."

Pop-ups will start, well, popping up this summer and stay open through the end of July. And if you're not in one of the select cities (New York, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago), no worries. You can always subscribe to Birchbox directly online for $10 a month.
