Earlier this year, Big Little Lies made a big (little) impact with its soapy, star-studded whodunnit. But at only seven episodes, the show flew by quite quickly. Luckily for fans, there's more where that came from: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blake Lively will star in The Husband's Secret, a film adaptation of Big Little Lies book author Liane Moriarty's 2013 bestseller.

Much like Big Little Lies, The Husband's Secret tells a mysterious, heart-pounding tale of murder and, well, lies. THR reports that Lively will play Cecilia Fitzpatrick, "a chronic perfectionist whose suburban bubble is burst when she finds a note from her husband addressed to her with instructions to open it in the event of his death." Except her husband is very still much alive, and the letter contains a secret that will completely upend her once-immaculate life.

The narrative fits so seamlessly into the Big Little Lies universe that it could almost be a spin-off. BLL also revolved around seemingly flawless, affluent women whose lives are thrown off course when buried violence and trauma come shooting to the surface. And Lively, who will also executive produce, is an apt choice for the role. She's played variations of Cecilia in the past. In Gossip Girl, she was an it girl with a checkered history; In The Age of Adaline, she was an ageless woman with a mythical secret.

The idea of a Big Little Lies Season 2 has already been floated around, but as we await confirmation, The Husband's Secret seems like a suitable consolation.
